Boy leapt to his death over CCA:
A 15-year-old jumped from the 11th-floor bedroom window of his home in front of his mother after a disagreement with his parents over his intention to switch his co-curricular activity in school.
A day before the tragedy, the 15-year-old, named Wen Yi sent a classmate a text message in which he said he was going to commit a crime- jump of the building as a “final feat of rebellion” and let his craziness be known to the world.
I am quite disturbed by this news. I do not think that there is a need to end a life just to make a point that a person want to make a firm decision. There are other forms of communication to transmit the message to another. There is also no need to end a life because of a disagreement.
According to the newspaper, it is Wen Yi’s “final feat of rebellion” to let his craziness known to the world. Is a life that worthless, that he can give it up just to prove a point? Suicide should be the last on any person’s list to solve a matter.
There is always help available. If one is really troubled, he or she can consult his parents or teachers for wise advices. If that fails, he or she can call the help lines available such as Touchline and Family service Centre.
To conclude, one should seek help if troubled, not to end his or her life just like that.
