Title: Singaporean hostage killed in Mumbai
Summary:
The mumbai terror attacks claimed a singaporean victim, lawyer Lo Hwei Yen and she was the first singaporean to die in the terrorist attack. She had gone to mumbai on wednesday to attend a business seminar and it were meant to be a one-night trip. Her body was found on the 19th floor of the hotel and identified . News reported the terrorist had held the women at gunpoint and ordered her to tell the government to tell authorities to refrain from acting against them or she would lose her life.
Reflections:
After reading this article, a sense of hopelessness came to me, people in face of terrorism can be so vulnerable, so weak and could do nothing as danger approaches them. Terrorism is not just a matter concerning the united states but in fact the whole world. Who would thought that mumbai would be the next target? From the terrorist attack, it raised to the world one point : Terrorism affects each and everyone of us, you may be living in a bed of roses now but the next moment you would be held at gunpoint. It also shows how important in each and everyone of our role in preventing terrorism. If everyone doesnt take terrorism seriously now, it would be too late.
I believe this incident hit each and everyone of us hard, not just the fact that many had died, but the fact that our very own singaporean had died in this terrorism attack as such i hope that each and everyone would learn a lesson from this incident to stay vigilant always, we would not be so lucky each time.
I hope that each country can cooperate with each other, working hand in hand, to remove terrorism as a threat.
