Beijing Olympics

Personally, i don't think that Asia is recognised as a power to be reckoned with in the world. At first, when i knew that the Olympics would be held in Beijing, i though: 'Finally, people will think that Asia is strong.' But i was wrong! Why did i change my views then?

Because as far as i know, the Tibetan did not like Olympics[but i don't know the reason] and they tried to attack the torch runner and also tried to make this time's Olympics unsuccessful. And also, there are inconsiderate people wanting to plan a terrorist attack on the Olympics day but of course, many of them are being caught. So, what do these continuous happenings reflect? This means that the Asians are not bonded enough. So is there a possibility for the Asia to be recognised as a power when, we the Asians, don't even stand with the Asians and tried to cause problems to make the Olympics[which is considered a big event] unsuccessful.

However, i feel that the Western countries are more powerful as they are more bonded. Take Singapore as an example. Being an Asian country, we should side our own Asian countries. But whenever we heard of the country 'Indian', we will straightaway think that it is a dirty country etc. and whenever we heard of 'China', we will also say that the people there are dirty, low-class etc. (no offence) We are criticising them instead of giving them support{is this some sort of rejecting them?} So, i think that if the Western countries just give us one small 'kick', the Asian will surely 'fall' heavily. If Asia is being recognised, why are there so many problems arousing?

In conclusion, i don't think that Asia is recognised as a power to be reckoned with in the world.

*miss tang, i think i wrote out of point because i don't really know the topic and don't know how to elaborate. So sorry.*
