School Is...

School is my temporary second home and it is a place whereby we train for the future. It is where we learn new things. New things does not only apply to academic but it can also apply to some of the essential things that we need to learn in LIFE. Firstly when we say the word school, the first thing that comes to our mind is studies, studies and MORE STUDIES! True enough it is mostly about studies but if that is so, than why do have stuffs like CCAs, councillor or even STAR scholarships? All these have their own purposes.

Firstly, coming to academic. In this era, without a degree or a diploma, its difficult to survive in a country. With this in mind, it is why the government has made it compulsory for all students in singapore to go to school. In any normal secondary school, we have 3 streams, that is express, normal academic and normal technical. Students are placed into 3 different streams not because they are clever or because they are stupid but beacause they do well in different things. For me, I can say that I do have stress when it comes to handling 8 subjects and 2 CCAs. But i am trying my best to perform well at school every single day. In another years' time, I'll be sitting for my 'O's and then moving on with life. The thought of 'O's really scares me. Just think about yourself not doing well and going to a place that you really REALLY hate. I really don't want such a situation which is why i think about my 'O's every single day and really try my best to work towards what i want. That is where the stress really comes. When i don't do what i have to do on time, i really get panicky and all. I do know the importance of my studies and i really hope that i get what i want. Everyday passes with a snap of the fingers. School enables us to think about the future and work towards our goal. This is something that we really need in the future.

Next, coming to CCAs and all. As i said before i have 2 CCAs. Now, at sec 3 and that to after LCD, I can say that almost all the sec 3s have gotten their posts and well everyone of us are important in a commitee whether you are a debate co-ordinator or a president. It is only the words that make you look big but if you don't do what you have to then no one would respect you as a leader. Having that in mind, I'm consistently doing what I have to in my CCAs. I do have a lot of passion for my CCAs which is why i make sure that me juniors do learn something from the current commitee before we step down. Time is really going to pass by so fast that i can already imagine myself stepping down from my CCAs! In school, through our CCAs, it enables us to build our talents and who knows we may be even working working as a drama artist in the near future!

Putting CCAs and studies together, there can be a lot of stress in a school life but there can also be as much fun! It just depends on the way you look at it. As for me, I can say that school is fun and so is it stressful but that does not mean that we should drop out from school. If we do then we are just looking at the negative side of school and not thinking about our future. I like the stress that i get from school and seriously speaking, if i am not in school, i would've really died of boredom!!! Can you imagine, no school, no CCAs, no friends. How do we learn not to give up hope and continue trying? Where do we learn that friends are people who make us laugh and cry at the same time? Where do we learn that our future is really important for our being? Where do we learn to be confident and to keep trying? Putting all this together, i can only conclude that, no school would mean that there is no me!
