I think that asia has already been an recognised by many countries and the Beijing olympics is going to make asia even proud. Asia is the world's largest and most populous continent by a considerable margin, and it is rich in natural resources, such as petroleum forests, fish, water, metal and rice
Asia has traditionally been strongest in East and Southeast Asia, particularly in mainland China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea and Singapore. Many companies from Europe, North America, and South Korea have operations in Asia's developing countries to take advantage of its abundant supply of cheap labour and relatively developed infrastructure.
Also, asia boasts rich cultures and traditions. There are an abundance of ethnic groups throughout Asia and the region has been greatly influenced by the cultures and religions of India and China. The continent also boasts many beautiful sceneries and sights and even events such as F1 racing in Singapore and Malaysia
The beijing olympics, which is to be held on 8th of August, 2008, is an evidence that China is not only a prosperous country, but also to be reckoned with the world. After winning the bid, Li Lanqing, the vice premier of China, declared "The winning of the 2008 Olympic bid is an example of the international recognition of China's social stability, economic progress and the healthy life of the Chinese people."
China shocked many when they beat Toronto, Paris, Istanbul, and Osaka to clinch the rights to hold the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Being the second country in Asia to host the Olympics, one can see that Asia is beginning to catch many countries’s attention in the present and future.
With the rising economy of China and India, Asia could be indeed a prosperous and rich continent in the near future.
