Title: Fatal highway crash: Bus driver charged
Summary:
A former SMRT bus driver was charged in court yesterday with causing the death of two people in an expressway accident earlier this year, he was accused of losing control of his bus and crashing into a lorry that had stopped along the shoulder of the expressway. He faces a charge of causing death by commiting a rash act and two others of injuring the driver and other passenger.
Reflection:
After reading this article, i empatise with the victims in this traffic accident who had lost their lifes because of the rash actions of road users.I felt that their lives were sarcificed for nothing and feel that the driver ought to pay for his action which causes harm to fellow road users. From this incident, it had served yet another warning to irresponsible road users, drive without any consideration and you would pay for your actions. I feel that those road users should be condemed because by driving irresponsiblly they had caused others to suffer with them and their actions are regarded as selfish to me. I wonder before they decided to drive rashly not considering others, have they thought for themselves? Like the example in this article, he might have to be jailed for five years and fined, during this period, what would happen to their family?
I personally think to prevent more of such incidents from happening, the police could induce more severe punishments so that less people would drive rashly.
However, i personally think that punishments could serve as warning but whats important is to drive with concern for others.
