Book Review

Title: Buffy and the vampire slayers
Series: Out of the madhouse

Book summary:

Werewolves. Trolls. Sea Monsters. Rain of toads. Skyquakes. Sunnydale is being besieged by dark forces. But even with Buffy providing her unique style of damage control while Giles is hospitalized out of town, it's more than one Slayer can handle--especially since the abominations are coming from a centuries-old portal through time and space. Somehow, the hell-hole must be found and corked at its source. For Buffy, Angel, and the rest of her gang, that means a road trip to Boston where an ailing Gatekeeper resides over a supernatural mansion that has been, until recently, holding the world's worst monsters at bay. Once there, Buffy discovers the catastrophic truth: the magical structure houses thousands of rooms, all of which are doorways to limbo's `ghost roads,' and all of which may bring her face-to-face with the most nefarious forces in hell and on earth--forces bent on horrific plans far worse than the Slayer ever imagined.

Thoughts:

This book "Out Of The Madhouse" introduces two major settings which is really important in the Buffy series. The first is the Gatehouse, a huge, mansion in Boston that prevents all kinds of monsters from escaping into the outside world. The second is the Ghost Roads, a place where the souls of the dead walk until the time has come for them to pass onto another stage. These two places are well explained in this book, especially the whole idea of the gatehouse. This is why i love this series and its really awesome. I have read other series of Buffy the vampire slayer, but this is definitely one of the best series that i have read. The action was non-stop, I could picture the scenes in my head really clearly. In this novel, the author not only concentrate on Buffy, but the whole gang is included in this adventure as well. That's why one of the unique aspects of the book is it gives us a chance to really see each of the characters individually. You will be able to truely understand the character of Giles, Xander and even Cordy. The authors also included pleny of sarcastic remarks, which you could definitely see coming out of the mouths of the characters on the real show. There were also alot of twists to keep the audience such as me, engaged and the plot is well thought of. You won't know ever know what will come next...
