Movie plot
In the 1940s when Taiwan was a Japanese colony, a Japanese teacher (Kousuke Atari) dispatched to the southernmost town of Hengchun fell in love with a local girl with the Japanese name Kojima Tomoko. After the Surrender of Japan, he was forced to return to his home country. On his trip home, he penned seven love letters to express his regret for leaving Kojima Tomoko, who originally planned to elope with him to Japan.
More than 60 years after the teacher left Kojima Tomoko, Aga is introduced as a struggling young Hengchun-native rock band singer who could not find success in Taipei. After returning to his hometown, Aga's step father, the Town Council Representative, arranged a position for him as a postman, replacing the senile Uncle Mao (Johnny C.J. Lin), on leave after a motorcycle accident broke his leg. One day Aga comes across an undeliverable piece of mail that was supposed to be returned to the post office: the daughter of the now deceased Japanese teacher has decided to mail the unsent love letters to Taiwan after discovering them. Aga unlawfully keeps and opens the package to discover its contents, but the old Japanese-style address Cape No. 7, Hengchun County, could no longer be found.
Meantime a local resort hotel inside Kenting National Park is organizing a beach concert featuring Japanese pop singer Kousuke Atari, but Aga's step father makes use of his official position to insist that the opening band be composed of locals. Tomoko , an over-the-hill Mandarin-speaking Japanese fashion model dispatched to Hengchun, is assigned the difficult task of managing this hastily assembled band, led by Aga along with six other locals of rather particular backgrounds. After a frustrating trial period Aga and Tomoko unexpectedly begin a relationship. With some assistance from hotel maid Mingchu , Tomoko helps Aga find Kojima Tomoko, the rightful recipient of the seven love letters. Aga then returns to the beach resort and performs a highly successful concert with this local band and Kousuke Atari.

Reflection on Cape No.7
Cape No.7 is one of the best movie i had ever seen in my whole life. This movie has been nominated for the Golden Horse Awards and definitely was a hit in taiwan. The background music of every scene suits it well and every actor in the movie has their own styles. For example, Aga's step father, the Town Council Representative, was simply bossy and speaks loudly to everyone. However, he is a warm hearted man that request his son, Aga, to perfom a concert with six other local people. The whole movie gives a soothe feeling for the audience and the whole theatre is filled with laughters when Uncle Mao who is 80 years old, insisting to participate the concert. The songs they sang was splendid and it had moved Tomoko, Aga's girlfriend to stay with him instead of going back to Japan to work. Finally, the seven love letters had reached the owner's hands,Kojima Tomoko and the story ended with Aga winning her girlfriend back. I had only two words for this movie: must watch!!=)) i will post some pictures of this movie and i really hope everyone could had enjoy this movie and share comments with me thanks!!
